Friday Photo Flashback

This picture is from 1994. It is Byron and I at my high school's Sadie Hawkins dance. I'm not sure if everyone knows what the Sadie Hawkins dance is so I'll give you a very short tutorial. I think in other places they are called the backwards dance or MORP. It's just basically a dance where everything is backwards. The girl asks the boy. You do the opposite of dressing up. It is all very informal type stuff. Back then it was very popular for couple to wear the same flannel shirt. I'm not sure why. All I can say is I think I have 4 Sadie Hawkins pictures and my date and I are wearing matching shirts in each one. Goofy, I know. But fun!

LOL, yes, we had Sadie Hawkin dances here too!!! And everyone did match w/ their dates. I think they were always in the fall so that's why everyone also dressed for the harvest!

I remember those, but I never got up the nerve to ask a boy to a dance. Funny, isn't it? I think it is awesome that you have something like that from when you and your husband were kids...your own children will love seeing those pictures.

Our Sadie Hawkin's/MORP were all themed. (We had one in the fall and one in the spring.) So my dance pix look like a Halloween parade!

I'm following you from the MBC Under 100 Club. I look forward to reading more!
