Scream queens
The joys of having girls. I am trying to rid the basement of some unwanted items. I was donating some furniture to the church and I pulled out an old bean bag to donate as well. That was really dumb because as soon as the kids saw it they begged me to keep it. I agreed which was a huge mistake because that bean bag makes them crazy! They have started a new game where they count to 3, scream, and then jump on the bean bag. I'm not talking your garden variety scream. These are full blown, horror movie, jump out of your skin screams. Kendall and Grace scream and jump while Maddie watches and screams. I don't know how but girls are just born knowing how to send a scream right through a person. The bean bag also brings out some other odd behavior as you can see by these pictures.

The voices in your head
The Halls were discussing their day over a dinner of tacos and veggies last night. Byron mentioned that he had a ZZ Top song stuck in his head all day. I said that I had a song stuck in my head all day too. We started naming songs that are notorious for getting stuck in your head. (Like that freecreditreport.com commercial. Now your singing it too!) Kendall piped up and said she'd had the song "Hong Kong Phooey" stuck in her head. Byron and I burst out laughing. "I can't help it mom. I've been singing that song all day in my head at school. I could barely think about Kindergarten. I just love the way that song sounds!" Of course the only words anyone knows to that song are the title words. Now that you've read this post you can spend the whole day singing it too.

Avoid the Noid
Who remembers the Noid from Domino's pizza? Many years ago my Uncle Eric gave me a stuffed doll of the "Noid". I was doing some cleaning in the playroom and I found the Noid at the bottom of the stuffed animals. I think he's so cute so I put him on top. Fast forward to tonight. We're all in the playroom and Kendall says "What is that disgusting doll doing out here?" Huh? "That doll is so gross and disgusting. It is not for nice girls like us!" I say, "The Noid? Your Great Uncle Eric gave that to me when I was barely older than you. You are supposed to avoid the Noid, but not say he's disgusting. He's cute." Kendall's reply "Why would Uncle Eric give that to you? It is not for girls. It is a disgusting doll and I don't want to see it anymore. Please get it out of here." I laughed so hard at her pure annoyance with the whole situation. I brought the Noid upstairs and tried to get her to pose with it but she wasn't having it. So I got Maddie and Grace to pose instead.

What in the name of potatoes and green beans?
This will be a potpourri blog post. Meaning the kids have done a lot of little things that are probably worth blogging about but are not strong enough to have their own blog post.
Kendall--Let start with the oldest Hall. Kendall has started taking all the phrases I say and trying to make them into her own. Whenever something happens I will say "What in the name of....." Fill in the blank. It can range from "biscuits and gravy" to "diapers and doughnuts". Basically whatever pops out of my mouth I go with. (PG of course). Kendall has adapted this for herself. Yesterday I heard her say "What in the name of potatoes and green beans?" and then later "What in the name of babies all over the world?" She also spends a lot of time "helping" Maddie learn how to crawl. More of that in Maddie's section.
Grace--The middle Hall has started calling herself Ce-Ce. I think Gracie must sound like Ce-Ce to her. So of course this is her new nickname. She is talking like crazy and repeats everything, and I mean everything! More on that in a later post. She still loves phones and will do anything to get my cell phone. She has called Byron, my sister, and a couple of friends just this week. I would turn the cell phone off when she's using it but I can't figure out how to turn it off. Ha! She loves to carry it around saying "hullo, hullo?"
Madison--Ah, the baby of the bunch. Maddie is desperate to crawl but still has no idea what to do. She can make it from her bottom to her tummy but then gets completely stuck. Kendall has told her numerous time to "stick your knees up under you!" but I guess she's not listening. She still only has one tooth but that doesn't stop her from eating everything in sight. Her favorite activities this week are screaming at the cat and pulling Grace's hair. Now that it's warming up I think her new favorite activity will be sitting at the front door and watching the birds in the yard. Actually, that will be a family favorite. We're all like old people I guess.
