A little naughty and a little nice

Let's start with the naughty. Do I even need to explain or can you tell by looking at the pictures? Grace spent nap time using some markers to decorate herself and her room. It was everywhere. Walls, bedspreads, carpet, furniture, books. She even took some clothes out of the drawers and colored on them. I am still working on getting it out. That girl will be lucky if she makes it to three. The kicker? While I'm cleaning she's behind me the whole time going "Pretty, mom. Pretty picture!"

Now for the nice, well kind of....My mom frequently sends Kendall cards with little stories in them; usually silly things about my dad. Kendall loves to receive them. I go to the mailbox today and there is a big white envelope from the post office with a little brown envelope attached. Hmm...it's from my mom to Kendall but the post office is saying they have damaged it. Also, it's postage due 76 cents. My interest is really peeked so I sneak into my bedroom and open it up myself before I give it to Kendall. It's a card with a flower wrapped in a paper towel in a Ziploc bag. Kendall loves to pick flowers out of my parent's garden so I guess my mom just decided to send her one. Forget a box, my mom seems to think a flower can survive a ride through the postal system in a plastic bag with a wet paper towel. I hand it over to Kendall and she is overjoyed. She very carefully takes out the flower and we're both amazed as it slowly begins to open up. It looks perfect and I am thinking that maybe my mom knows more about mailing flowers in a Ziploc bag than I think. We both sit and stare at the flower for about 5 seconds and then suddenly EVERY SINGLE pedal fell off at once! Steven Spielberg could not have created a better effect with all the computers in the world. We laughed until we were almost crying. We picked up the petals and sprinkled them in a bowl of water to enjoy the scent for a least a few more days.
